Conference Overview

The annual conference is our premier professional development event, focused on sharing best practices and building program capacity to strengthen the effectiveness of your services and the sustainability of your organization. 

OCTOBER 23, FRIDAY

9:00am - 4:00pm: Annual Board of Directors Meeting (Board Members Only)

6:00pm - 8:00pm: Welcome Reception for all Conference Attendees at MotorCity Casino Hotel, Hosted by ACDN Board

OCTOBER 24, SATURDAY

7:30am: Registration and Breakfast

8:00am - 4:00pm: Conference Sessions

4:30pm - 9:00pm: Host Organization Reception at Jackets for Jobs (West-side location) followed by tour and appetizers at the Fisher Mansion.  

OCTOBER 25, SUNDAY

8:00am - 12:00pm: Breakfast & Sessions

12:30pm: Conference ends

1:00pm - 3:00pm: Board and Conference Committee Wrap-up

Tonya Allen, President & CEO, Skillman Foundation

Tonya Allen, a serial “idea-preneur,” serves as the Foundation’s president & chief executive officer. Her two-decade long career has centered on pursuing, executing and investing in ideas that improve her hometown of Detroit and reduce the plight of underserved people, especially children. Allen has been instrumental in many successful philanthropic, government and community initiatives and has a comprehensive understanding of philanthropic governance and strategy.
